Kids Books for Summer Reading

This blog reached # 1  on Google earlier this week!
Kids report that reading a Max Elliot Anderson book is, “…like being in a scary or exciting movie.” And it’s good scary, not dark.

This summer, you will probably be looking for books to keep your kids reading while they’re out of school. It’s no small task to pull them away from the TV, video games, smart phone, or computer.

My books are written with boys in mind, first, but girls love reading them just as much, or more.

I may have just the books you’re looking for. That’s because most of my life has been devoted to the production of films, television commercials, and video programs. Now, much of that same visual excitement finds its way onto the pages of my action, adventure, and mystery books written for readers 8 and up.

Those films included humor, excitement, danger, suspense, action, adventure, mystery, and so much more. My books follow the exact same pattern.

If you’re looking for books that will capture the attention of your child, and hold them to the end, with many cliffhanger chapter endings that nearly force the reader to continue, you might give my books a try.

The Sam Cooper Adventure Series.
Book # 1, Lost Island Smugglers, is available now. Also on Kindle.

Book # 2, Captain Jack’s Treasure will be out later this summer. Watch for it.

Barney and the Runaway is available now. Also on Kindle. Check out the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0l7ZU94Ieo&feature=mfu

Newspaper Caper will be out later this summer. Watch for it.

When the Lights Go Out is a tribute to what happened on 9/11 and is to be released on August 1, in time for the 10th anniversary of 9/11 this year. A special blog has been started for this important new kids book http://max-whenlightsgoout.blogspot.com/

As your young reader is ready to go back to school, North Woods Poachers will be released on September 1.

Book # 3 in the Sam Cooper Adventure Series, River Rampage, is expected to release before Christmas. Watch for it.

Several other titles are in the pipeline. You can return to this blog for information or write mander8813@aol.com  and ask to be placed on our mailing list.

Have a great summer reading experience!

Max, your ministry of writing for boys is so amazing. I don't think anyone has really targeted this group so well since the HardyBoys. I know my own son, now 39, just couldn't put them down and now he's such an avid reader. Way to go!

Hi Max - have you considered finding the reading level of your titles? Not the age of the kids who may be interested but the reading level/difficulty. I encourage you to do so. Lexile.com is a great resource for that.
